Officially initiated on 22 August 2026 by the General Manager, Eng. S. Mukundu, through the Risk Section, as part of the Station’s ongoing commitment to promoting employee health, wellbeing, and a positive safety culture.
The initiative is founded on the principle of “Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds”, recognising that physical fitness and mental wellbeing are essential components of a productive, resilient, and safety-conscious workforce. The Wellness Walk provides employees with an opportunity to step away from their routine work environment, engage in physical activity, interact with colleagues, and promote overall health.

The programme is designed as an ongoing weekly activity taking place every Saturday morning, offering a space to strengthen teamwork, camaraderie, and cross-departmental engagement. Beyond physical fitness, the walks contribute to improved mental and psychosocial wellbeing by creating a relaxed environment where employees can connect, unwind, and manage stress—reinforcing the message that employee health is an important foundation for operational excellence.
