The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Hwange District on 21 July 2026 relaunched its Client Service Charter at the Number One Bus Terminus in Lwendulu, reaffirming its commitment to professionalism, accountability and quality service delivery.
The relaunch, led by Officer Commanding Police Hwange District, Chief Superintendent Nehwasvi, reminded officers of their responsibility to uphold the standards outlined in the charter and strengthen public confidence in the police service.
Originally launched in Hwange District in 2017, the Client Service Charter outlines the standards of service citizens should expect from the Zimbabwe Republic Police, while also defining the rights and responsibilities of members of the public when accessing police services.
Addressing officers during the event, Chief Supt Nehwasvi said the charter reflects the ZRP’s commitment to delivering the minimum standards of service expected by its clients.
“The importance of this charter is our commitment as the Zimbabwe Republic Police to meeting the minimum standards of service delivery expected by our clients,” he said.
He urged officers to ensure that the commitments contained in the charter are translated into action through their daily interactions with the public, noting that the success of the initiative depends on consistent implementation.
Chief Supt Nehwasvi further challenged officers to treat the Client Service Charter as a practical guide for policing, emphasizing the need to respond promptly to complaints, treat members of the public with dignity and respect, and enforce the law fairly and impartially.
The relaunch forms part of the Zimbabwe Republic Police’s ongoing efforts to enhance transparency, accountability and professionalism, while strengthening trust and cooperation between the police and the communities they serve.
