Six people are feared dead following a helicopter crash in Marondera Rural on Wednesday evening.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed that an aircraft crashed in the Marondera Rural area at around 5pm this Wednesday, According to the police, the aircraft had six occupants, with more details expected to be released as authorities attend to the crash scene.
The Government later confirmed that the incident involved a helicopter and that there were no survivors.
Government spokesperson Nick Mangwana said the helicopter was carrying a high-profile businessman, three other passengers and two pilots.
“Current information indicates that there were no survivors in this crash,” Mangwana said.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police is expected to release the identities of the victims once the necessary procedures have been completed.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the cause of the crash. The incident has drawn attention across the country, with emergency personnel and police attending the scene in Marondera.
